The T-shirt issue has been sorted out and everyone is back to being happy and joyful and downright awesome once again. I do think you all will like what we've decided to do.. but shhhh it's a surprise so I'm not telling what we've decided to do :P
I also called a meeting with the Canton last week to discuss things that are needed for the event and what not. I'm very open with the canton and feel that they are as much a part of planning the event as the autocrats. Ard Chreag has a vast variety of talents and brute force and with all the construction projects coming up I will be relying on my Ard Chreagian family to help us out. Everyone seems excited for the event and are full on volunteering for some of the harder stuff already.. yay for not having to chase people down and do the puppy dog eye thing.. i suck at that puppy dog eye thing :o
We have been collecting things that are needed for our plans for the Trillies site and Lysele has been hard at work at making visible street signs (the kind that direct you to the site.. they are gorgeous and they are large..) My one big pet peeve with events in the SCA are the directional signs that are tiny or placed in places you can't really see them if you are driving.. I know it can't always be avoided but man does my eye twitch if the signage doesn't really help find the site.
So with those done and the site now clear of snow we were able to go on up there today to measure things out and just refresh our wintery brains on where things will go etc etc...
There's just under 3 months to go until the event and now that the weather is warming up and snow is clearing there is a lot of work to be done. Shower stalls need to be built, other things need to be designed and made (its a secret so not telling) schedules need to be sorted out etc etc. There's a lot on the list but I'm not stressed yet so far we are still on schedule. :) and really for anyone that knows me.. me being on schedule is almost an "omg call the Vatican" miracle. I tend to run on "Jenn time" :P I blame Lysele for the "on timeness" that is occurring. :P
We've also discovered on our visit today that the layout we wanted to use won't exactly work out the way we wanted it too so we are back to square one with the site design. The one big plus we have right now is that quite a few of the larger households and what not have RSVP'd via the group sign up button which is helping us a great deal in figuring out the site layout. So thank you to everyone that has done so already and just a call out to any Household or Large group leaders that the faster you get your RSVP in the better it is. I would hate to split large groups up simply because they didn't rsvp or arrived to late to get a big first come first serve site.
We also let the local diner, bakery, convenience store (for ice mostly) and the LCBO know that we were coming. The LCBO is more than happy to have lots of Somersby cider in stock for that weekend :D (I dont know about you guys.. but I did a happy dance.. I did.. right there in the parking lot.. O.o no I wont be doing it again.. don't ask :P)
So now I'm home. I gave the pup a bath (he had fun running around the fields), and about to organize the new RSVP's I've had come in.. All in all today has been a good Trillies day.
